Giving Agency to Animal Ambassadors

This illustration will be used during the National Aquarium’s “Animal Encounters” experience, which is intended to educate, entertain, and produce interest in conservation. It is also currently displayed in the National Aquarium’s Animal Care and Rehabilitation Center. The piece illustrates how the aquarium promotes animal welfare by providing ambassador animals with choices during their presentations. 

This illustration is the first produced for the National Aquarium which focuses on behavior. This was an exciting project to work on because of my passion for animals and background in animal care and veterinary medicine. I had an opportunity to meet every reptile depicted, which helped their personalities shine through.
